I stopped building spellvamp on Cass a long while ago (pre-E change) because I considered it gimmicky, but perhaps it's worth revisiting.Įdit: niche question, but are you aware that you can flash forwards during the leanback of her ult cast? I saw it in a Korean test video a while back, and it seems really valuable for being less predictable. Rushing Rylai's can give you a really large power spike upon completion. I feel like Early-Mid is when Cass shines brightest (not that she falls off), but I feel like building tear can really put a damper on that. I feel like your aversion to Liandry's comes along with your dislike of her W, but I'd just like to point out the crazy hidden damage it can put out if placed well in a team fight, especially in chokes like the jungle. She becomes such a monster in both kiting and chasing with it, landing a single Q can often guarantee a kill without an escape, flash, or jungler help. I'm even more surprised that you wouldn't consider Rylai's core on her. Especially in the case of 1v2ing when getting ganked, that pool can absolutely murder melee champs if they try to facetank you without stutter stepping. I'm really surprised that you opt not to take a point in W at all until required to do so. Her level 1 poke is great and her level 2 just seals the deal.ĭo you prefer trying to draw jungler agro and 1v2ing, or more hard push and play safely? One of the biggest responses to a Cass pick is to camp her, it seems. This might be a bit harder with heal being dumb now, but just curious if you considered it. How often would you say you level 2 allin? I did an experiment a month or two ago where I would just balls deep allin the moment I hit level 2, and it 90% resulted in a first blood, especially if the opponent didn't know what Cass is capable of. I've been trying to argue that Cass is still top tier in the right hands, and it always got downvoted :| Generally, you should play her as an ADC (If you went Rylais you should almost always just stay with your own ADC and kite any divers off them with the slow), but because you can build her in so many ways, you can often afford to be a bit more divey if you have some tank items like Rylais/Liandrys/Seraphs/Zonyas. I use it almost exclusively as an "OH SHIT" button, BUT if I see an opportunity to catch somebody out like an exposed ADC I will flash ult them and gun them down. She is one of the only mages who has high kill potential without it. Somebody on this forum made a good comment once: A perfect Cass should never need her ultimate. I almost exclusively save it for when I need to peel for myself or my team. #Cassiopeia mains reddit proIn fact I don't think there has been a pro game with one of those "fight turning Cass ults". If you watch a lot of pro games from S2 that have her, you will often see them flash ult to synergize with whatever AOE wombo combo her team is doing. The best way to team fight with her is to hold your ult until you see an opportunity for a stun. Ryze, Akali, Vlad, Mordekaiser, and Swain are the absolute easiest for her. Her best matchups are any champion she outranges. Other laners I don't really like are Caitlyn, Vel'Koz, and Xerath. However you hardcore outscale her so if you get out of laning OK then you should be fine. I don't like playing her against Syndra because she can stun you out of your range and just ult you and you're dead. She can honestly hold her own against all champions although some are more difficult than others. If you see the enemy laner at half health and you land a Q, don't be afraid to immediately Ult+Flash (in that order you can flash mid ult and it catches people off guard) and burn the rest of their health down.Ĭass has no matchups you should actively avoid. Every Q that you land means you have kill potential. If you DO know where they are then go crazy. Don't be super aggro unless you have vision, flash, and knowledge of where their jungler is. You have to be REALLY careful because Cass is huge gank bait. Harassing in lane is typically just Q and if they are in range an E or two. Champions like Ziggs and Orianna I take Heal and against champions I hard counter like Ryze and Swain I take ignite. Against champions like Syndra and LeBlanc where you have no opportunity to respond at all I take Barrier. Against champions like Fizz/Zed/Lee Sin/Riven that want to all-in but can't do it in. Against Annie I take Cleanse so I can cleanse her stun and ult her when she all-ins. My second summoner after Flash depends entirely on the lane matchup.
